More On Independence

I’m still thinking about the meaning of the 4th of July.

1. free from influence, control, or determination of another or others; specifically.
a) free from the rule of another; controlling or governing oneself; self-governing.
b) free from influence, persuasion, or bias; self-determined; self-confident, or self-reliant: as, independent thinking.
c) not connected with any political party or organization: as an independent voter
d) not connected or related to another, to each other, or to a group; separate: as and independent grocer

1. to hang down; (Archaic)
2. influenced, controlled, or determined by something else; contingent;
3. relying (on someone or something) for support or aid

Webster’s New World Dictionary

Wanting independence as a nation, as a citizen, is something to treasure and worth fighting for.

Wanting independence from God is another matter all together.

2 Corinthians 3:5
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Trust God for your day, Today
