We’ve been going through a lot and I must admit it is hard. My whole world has been shaken, is shaking and I don’t have control over any part of it. Or so it seems. I am very thankful for Mr. C listening while I ranted and raved without trying to give me a quick fix or some platitude; but understood by saying,” Yeah, it does feel as if parts of you are being ripped away little by little”. Thank you, Sir xo
The song ‘ Stand Still …for the battle is not yours but God’s’ keeps running through my head. So this morning about 4am, I started thinking about what to do while I standing still. I had to get up and write some notes, coz’ with my brain I was sure I would forget it by the time I was ready to type it.
A person can be very busy while standing still (in not particular order):
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
SEE THE SALVATION OF THE LORD WITH YOU
2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
TRIM YOUR LAMPS
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE
Let your light so shine before men . . .
IN EVERY THING GIVE THANKS
SOW IN TEARS
They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
. . . weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
KEEP UP MY DAILY OBLIGATIONS; NO MATTER HOW FUTILE THEY MAY SEEM
And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices,
CAST NOT AWAY therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
CASTING ALL your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7
WATCH AND PRAY
Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
SIN NOT NOR CHARGE GOD FOOLISHLY
In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
2 Chronicles 20:15-18
And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshiping the LORD.
