I had fainted, unless…

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Psalms 27:13-14

A supernatural deliverance was given to one who feared God. The heartening account is recorded in 2 Kings 4:4. A minister of God died and left his widow with two sons in dire straits. She could not shoulder the responsibilities and soon the creditors came to take her two sons who were her only means of support. The little mother in desperation took her sons and behind the closed doors of her humble cottage raised the heart cry of a widow to the One who “hears the prayers of little children and widows.”

Pay a visit to this widow’s cottage. It will stimulate your faith to learn
from her what God did on her behalf. When every prop is gone—all else but God—then He knows your heart cry is one of utter dependence upon Him.

You can also experience the “hardest place in life” as being the sweetest. It is there one makes a fresh discovery of God.

Nothing has changed, grief is still heavy, uncertainty is ahead, in control is a memory, but casting the heaviness of these cares on Christ, truly does make the yoke easier and the burden lighter. I’m thankful.

Trust God for your day…Today
